Meet Adam

Personal

Adam is originally from Spokane, WA and attended college for two years in Madrid, Spain before completing a Semester at Sea program and graduating from Eastern Washington University in 2012. He moved to Northern Virginia for work in 2013.

Adam did not have the opportunity to row in high school nor college but found the sport as an adult with the DC Strokes 2015 novice class. He rowed with the competitive program in the following years and volunteered to help cox learn-to-row and novice classes.

Coaching

In 2019 Adam started coaching for high school novice programs and coached for DC Strokes post COVID. He has been coaching for Broad Run Crew since 2022. He loves introducing the sport to novices and seeing the “ah-ha” moments when concepts click.

Professional

Adam was an Analyst for the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) working with the company’s scholarship program for university students. He was based out of the UAE Embassy in Washington, DC where data analytics and project management were the main job focus.

After moving to Ashburn, VA during the pandemic, he switched jobs to a dedicated data analyst role with the Loudoun County government and has won several awards in recognition of projects that have had substantial improvements in departmental performance.

Adam is a soon to be certified US Rowing Level 2 coach and certified Microsoft Data Analyst associate.

Data Crew

Like many sports, rowing offers a wealth of data that when utilized properly, can provide a competitive edge. In combing two of his passions, Adam has created Data Crew to better serve both.
